It was past midnight and Vedetta was awake in her bed once again. She hated it when she couldn’t sleep but she was getting used to it by now. During her summers at home in France and lately in London, she used to go to a coffee place who was opened twenty four hours and she would seep through her coffee all night until dawn came, watching people like her who couldn’t sleep or were driving home after a long shift.
Now she was at Hogwarts and the only place she could go was the grounds, being careful not to be caught by the prefects around. She got up, put on her robe and went to the grounds as silently as she could, which quite a lot being used to sneak in out of the Gryffindor tower every now and then.
Her favorite place was a tree she rest under when it was night. She could think without being interrupted by her Gryffindor mates and the noise of the castle during the day. She got time to do her homework in peace and to miss her hometown and her former school and friends. Though she had done very good friends in her time in Hogwarts she had the impression she didn’t have as close friends as she used to in Beauxbatons. Maybe it was the fact that she had spent her life with them and the people in Hogwarts had spent their lives with the people in here and she was a newcomer.
Whatever the fact was, she longed for someone to tell all her secrets and hang around without having to mind her words or acts. She had been raised to be a lady, to be polite, to dress and talk likes one… In Hogwarts though she didn’t have to worry as much about all those things she still keep the wall she built around her, of course she was nice and kind and funny but there was always some distance when it came to her close feelings.
The air was cold and the grass was wet under her feet, she rested her head against the tree and breathed deeply. Hogwarts wasn’t at all as Beauxbatons but she found a certain charm in the castle and the grounds and she found herself quite comfortable there. She looked at the stars above, waiting for some kind of company in the silence of that long, long night. Deciding it was going to better to just go ahead and write the answer from her friend's letter that arrived that morning at breakfast.

~~ Swim in the Moonlight ~~
Cathy had been in the Library, attempting to read one of the many books, she hadnt succeeded. Cath wasnt having a very good start to the year, she had been screamed at by three different teachers, her house owl had almost bitten her finger off, and she was failing Potions, Again. Worst of all, her feelings for her best friend Jasper, were stronger than ever, it was stupid, He was a prince, a big, posh, Prince. Cath and Jaz(Only Cat could call Jasper Jaz) had been close for years, and Cat knew pretty much all of Jazz's secrets, she hated having a crush on him, it was stupid, petty, and Idiotic.
Pulling out of her deep thoughts, Cat slammed the book shut, tucking it into her satchel, she picked up her bag silently leaving the Library, avoiding a few Prefects, Cat slipped out of the school. Smiling she took out the book again, tracing the cover with her long fingernails.
Sighing she walked around the grounds, before seeing the outline of a body in the distance, grinning she skipped over to the person, making least noise as possible, Hopping down besides the person, Cat got a better look, noticing it was a girl, Obviously a Gryffindor. Cat had seen the girl around before in the Gryffindor common room, so It wasnt much of a surprise to see her out here, from what Catherine knew, the girl had just transferred, and Cath thought of a nice welcome. "Hi, I'm Catherine, but call me Cat!" Cat said happily, pushing her hair back, she stuck out one hand genuinely hoping to make a friend here.

Her friend had said to her all the girls over the school were missing her, she missed them too, a lot; things were so much different in Hogwarts. She had a good start of school but she couldn’t say to her friends she liked the old castle, they will feel left out. Her friends brought a lot of news about the girls in the school and the romances outside, she wrote about the boys in Hogwarts knowing her friend would love that piece of information.
She couldn’t believe she was in England, it seemed like a totally different world from Beauxbatons and London was very different from Paris. The girls were very different too, and the boys… well, they were all boys, all the same for her. She liked to play with them, talk to them, and sometimes kiss them but when it came to having a solid relationship she hadn’t find the one yet.
She was writing about her teachers and the house and the castle when she heard a softly noise by her side, looking up she found a girl grinning happily at her. She had longed for someone to talk to, but she hadn’t waiting for it to happen really. The girl was cute, long blond hair, nice smile and quite pretty, she seemed to be nice and her thoughts were confirmed when she introduced herself as Catherine.
oh hey there She said, patting he side to she would sit I’m Vedetta but people call me V All girls at school called her V, her sister called her Vee, hardly everyone called her by her full name though she quite liked it, It was unique, never knew a girl called as her before and hoped she never would. The girl was a Gryffindor and had a book in her hands and a bag with her.
She thought she was going to be the only in the castle awake because it was past midnight and the schedule dried them of energy but that girl proved to be the exception, just like her. I thought I was going to be the only one around she voiced her thoughts trying to find something to talk about, she was the new one, she was supposed to set the good example and of course she was supposed to put her former school in a high stand by her manners and brains. The last one wasn’t going to be easy since she had never been the smartest girl of the school; she had been the party one, the lively one.
The girl was a Gryffindor and she seemed to be one of her kind, the party, happy girl who was always chatting to everyone and wasn't shy at all. That was Vedetta, never the shy one, always easy to get along with when people didn't stand on her bad side. She was happy to find someone she could talk to and be friends with, she had been wishing for a friend there so she could start building her life inside the castle.
